Guwahati: Five police personnel were injured on Sunday after a Tata ultra bus collided with a police vehicle in Gohpur of Assam's Biswanath district.
As per reports, the accident occurred in the Purubari area in Goghpur this morning.
The policemen were going on examination duty while passengers on the bus were reportedly the candidates for the state government recruitment examination.
Since the policemen were injured in the collision but fortunately, no one was injured in the bus.
Meanwhile, in Guwahati's Lal Ganesh one person lost his life after a speeding truck rammed into a Tata Magic van on Saturday morning.
According to police sources, the truck driver named Anowar was inebriated when the accident occurred and he tried to flee after the collision, but the police caught him after chasing him for a few kilometers.
The Tata Magic van was en route to Lal Ganesh from Lokhra.
On August 22, another head-on collision between a speeding truck and an auto-rickshaw claimed four persons' lives in Katigorah.
The tragic accident occurred on Saturday night on NH 6 at Tikpara in Katigorah. However, the truck managed to escape from the site.
The four deceased were identified as Rajan Das, Yasin Ali, Bilal Ahmed, and Salim Uddin while another five persons were seriously injured and were admitted to Silchar Medical College Hospital.
As per an Eyewitness, there were nine passengers in the ill-fated auto rickshaw and due to the impact of the collision, most of them were thrown out of it.
